my favorite yoga place in dc. it’s not just about fitness but about the yoga practice. i love it when i find a venue that just fits me and my needs. i’m surrounded by people i identify with and it’s just awesome to be around them. great energy! and yoga is so much fun because you get to work with you and how much you can do; not comparing who can do things better; it’s about your own practice; challenging your body.
I couldn’t do a headstand for a long time (looks scary and so cool) but i kept at it and yesterday was the first day i got off my feet on my own! it was an exhilarating feeling. I was so proud of myself. Now only if I can do it again!
one of my favorite instructors is Michelle. she was so awesome yesterday when she threw out her lesson plan and focused on grounding poses after the earthquake we all experienced. she thought the earthquake was cool but there was still an uneasy nervous feeling inside all of us; we could all work on finding balance within ourselves again. it was a great practice and i love an instructor who can listen, feel, and be aware of her students’ needs.
